remove blinking wide cursor in entry field

In IE in the search entry field, a blinking "cursor" about a 1/4" wide is there for a short period then disappears. I want the narrow cursor to go directly to the search field. I have set up that it should but does not. Primarily, get rid of the blinking cursor.

    Hi,

    Thank you for sharing your query on Microsoft Community Forum.

    In order to assist you better, please provide information on these questions:

    1.      Does this happen on a particular website?

    2.      Are you having issue in both modern user interface internet explorer and desktop internet explorer?

     I would like you to follow the methods given:

    Method 1: Change the cursor blinking rate:

    1.      Press windows key + C.

    2.      Type control panel in search box.

    3.      In the search box, type keyboard, and then click Keyboard.

    4.      Move the Cursor blink rate slider to the right or left to increase or decrease the cursor blink speed, and then click OK. If you move the slider all the way to the left, the cursor will stop blinking.

    If the issue still persists, try this method:

    Method 2: Disable add-ons.

    Does not change anything. Let me explain further, the standard cursor width can be changed by using the area for changing cursor width and the cursor is black. In the entry search field for IE on screen there is a blinking GRAY  area to the left, about a 14" wide, as if to say, hey....here I am. You then bring the cursor up to the field as normal for search entry. Annoying, that's all.
