Windows 8 Fujitsu T900 touch screen capabilities

I have a Fujitsu T900 laptop. I just upgraded to Windows 8 and have been having trouble getting the touchscreen to work. When I looked in the computer properties, it told me that the for the screen I have, "No Pen or Touch input is available for this Display." I know that the screen is Pen and multi-touch capable because I've been using it for years that way with Windows 7, but now I cannot seem to even be able to activate or deactivate it because it thinks that it cannot. If someone could help guide me to fixing this I'd be grateful.

I was having the same issue with my Fujitsu T900, and it appears that the drivers located on Fujitsu were causing me the same error message.  I had to use the original driver & applications restore DVD that came with the laptop to reinstall the pen drivers.  On the disk -> drivers -> pen then select "dual" if you have the dual digitizer (both pen and touch), or single if you only have the pen functionality.   The setup.exe is located within this folder, then it will require a system reboot, and viola functionality restored.  Let me know if it works out for you :)

I attempted installing Win7 drivers for Pen input on the Win8 OS and it rejected it telling me that the platform is not supported. I did install the touchpad driver so I could get the scroll bar to work again. Still no progress on the Pen and Touch front.

Edit: Pen (Dual) did not work, but the Pen driver did restore functionality

Go to this link and use the configuration number tab.  The C/N is on the bottom of your computer.  Download the Pen or Pen (Dual) driver for a Windows 7 PC - either 32 bit or 64 bit depending.  http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/driverdownload.do

Ok. I've hit a few more road blocks. When I accessed the Device Manager there were no Wacom devices listed and the Human Interface Devices parent wasn't even available. I tried accessing the Control Panel and there is no Pen and Touch option.

When attempting to find any drivers online I've come up empty (nothing on Fujitsu's website but they're advertising Win8 computers so the drivers must exist somewhere).

Thank you for your help so far.

    Hi Sean,

Thank you for posting the query in Microsoft Community!!! Good to hear that you are using Windows 8.

This issue may be because you may not have the updated Touch Screen drivers for the Windows 8 Operating System.

Let’s try the steps given below and check the issue.

    Method 1:

    1)       Press "Windows Key + R" to open the Run Prompt.

    2)       Enter "devmgmt.msc" and click OK

    3)       You should now be in the "Device Manager" (you may need to click allow on a message box first)

    4)       Expand the list for "Mice and other pointing Devices"

    5)       Right click on any "Wacom" devices

    6)       Click "Uninstall"

    7)       Expand the list for "Human Interface Devices"

    8)       Right click on any "Wacom" devices

    9)       Click "Uninstall"

    10)   Restart the computer.

    11)   Now visit the Fujitsu website and search for the updated driver for the touch monitor that you have. (You can enter the device model no. and search for the driver for Windows 8 or contact the manufacturer for help)

    12)   Download the driver and install it on the computer.

    13)   Restart the computer and check the issue.

    Method 2:

    1)       Switch to “Start” screen. In the Start screen, tap on Control Panel tile to launch the Metro style Control Panel.

    2)       In the left pane of Control Panel, tap on “More settings” to open the good old Control Panel.

    3)       Here, navigate to Hardware and Sound and then Pen and Touch. Users who have enabled small icons in Control Panel can directly tap on Pen and Touch option.

    4)       In the Pen and Touch dialog, switch to “Touch” tab. Here, disable Use your finger as an input device option. Tap Apply button. You are done. You have just disabled the touch input! From now on the touch screen will not respond for the touch input.

This should fix the issue. If you are still facing any issue, feel free to reply and we’ll help you further.

    Have a great day.
