I run into trouble often with admin priviledges while i am on my admin account.

Im using Windows Vista.

Currently im trying to edit an xml file but it wont let me save it as the proper file saying that i do not have admin priviledges.

Oh yeah ive also tried an sfc /scannow but i get a message saying i need to be an administrator running a console session.

This is very frustrating.

    1. Yes
    2. Program Files/MicrosoftIntelliTypePro/commands

I'm trying to make the zoom trigger on my keyboard work as a scroll button instead.

    1. Nothing that i can think of other than installing this driver for my new keyboard

I tried to apply permissions as suggested but that didnt work.

It was recommended to me to turn off the UAC to get it to work, should i try that? The person that recommended it to me isnt someone i can trust so thats why im asking.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Communities.

Based on the issue description, it appears that you’re unable to edit an xml file.

Please provide us the answers to the following questions to help you troubleshoot the issue better.

    1.       Does the issue occur on all the files?

    2.       What is the location of the file that you are trying to edit/save?

    3.       Were there any recent changes made to the computer prior to the issue?

Please go ahead and follow the methods mentioned and later update us on the status of the issue.

Try to take the Ownership of the file and check if the same issue occurs.

To apply permissions to a file or folder:

    a.      Right-click the file or folder and then click Properties.

    b.      Click the Security tab and then click Edit.

    c.      Do one of the following:

    ·         To set permissions for a user that is not listed under Group or user names, click Add, type the name of the user or group, click OK, select the permissions, and then click OK.

    ·         To change or remove permissions from an existing group or user, click the name of the group or user, select the permissions, and then click OK.
