The blue icon that will show a capitalized letter, is now gone.  It normally comes up in the lower right hand side of the screen  when a letter is capitalized.

How do I find the icon to put it back on?

Thank you for your help!

If I look into my crystal ball, it tells me that you are talking about a Caps Lock Indicator in the notification area that uses a small blue icon to indicate that the status of the Caps Lock is On.

If this is the case, then the solution will depend greatly on what version of Windows you have and whether the small utility program is from your computer manufacturer, an aftermarket keyboard manufacturer or possibly a freeware utility program downloaded from the Internet.

Could you clarify a few of these points and supply the version of Windows you are running as well as the make/model of the computer in question? Do you use an aftermarket keyboard/mouse and do you recall downloading/installing any utility programs for indicating the status of Caps Lock?

In the interim, you might want to check the options available to you in the Control Panel's Keyboad applet. Go through the property pages and look for a checkbox that will turn the Caps Lock indicator back on.

I will download this software and give it a try.

Thank you so much for your help and I'll let you know how it works out with the Dell Quick Set software.

    I appreciate your help!

The little blue Caps lock indicator on your computer is part of the Dell Quick Set software. I would recommend getting the latest edition from the Dell Support web site and re-installing. Click through the following link for the Dell Support page.

Thank you so much for your reply!

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop Windows 7 system.  The caps lock indicator has always been there but a technician who worked on my computer by remote control, took the indicator off.  It's a life saver for me when I'm doing homework.

I looked at the Keyboard icon and can't find anything that shows a caps lock indicator.  I've been checking into the other icons on the control panel and can't find anything that talks about the caps lock indicator.

Thank you for your help on this!
