Battery Extender Software on Samsung Laptop

I have a Samsung SF410 laptop.  I recently upgraded to Windows 8, and due to a few issues most of the original programs including the Samsung programs were removed from my laptop by the MS support team in order to get Win8 installed.  Prior to the upgrade I was running the Samsung Battery Life Extender program which only charged my battery to 80%.  Now that I am running Windows 8 my battery only shows 79%.  I have tried to change the settings to fully charge the battery but have not been able to find out how to do this.  It is likely due to the fact that the Samsung program was removed prior to the Windows 8 install so I can no longer change the settings through that.  I did some research and tried to download the Battery Life Extender program from Samsung and install it on my computer thinking I could run this and fix the problem.  When I open the file and try to run it I get a message saying that the driver is not installed.  Bottom line is I want to get my battery up to 100%, in case I take the laptop off the charger and travel with it, so that I can get the maximum amount of time out of the battery.  I'm enjoying Windows 8, even on a laptop without a touch screen, but something like this is a point of frustration.  Any help from those of you out there running Win8 would be greatly appreciated!

The F2 key is just used to open the PC in Setup Utility mode.  These are the steps I used, hopefully it works for you:

    1. Go to your Start Menu, Select Power and Restart
    2. Your PC will begin to restart, while it is doing this hit the F2 key repeatedly to open Setup Utility
    3. Once Setup Utility is launched select "Advanced" from the top menu
    4. Under Advanced is Battery Life Cycle Extension, set this to "Disabled"
    5. Select "Exit" from the top menu, then choose "Save Changes and Reset"

Your PC will now reset again, and should charge back up to 100% battery power.

    Vijay,

I was actually just able to fix the problem myself.  I restarted the computer and hit F2 at the Samsung logo to access the BIOS settings screen, where I went through the menu and changed the battery settings.  I'm actually quite surprised that the Samsung support team didn't advise me on that course of action as it was far easier than trying to download new drivers and software!  My battery has now charged to 100%.

Thank you Vijay for your response.  I have attempted to fix this problem now twice with Samsung support and have been unsuccessful.  They had me first recalibrate the battery by draining it and then recharging it.  That still only brings it to an 80% charge.  Next they had me download their update program and install a settings function.  This was supposed to give me access to the power management feature under settings that allowed me to disable the battery life extender so I could get a full charge.  Unfortunately there was no power management feature located in settings.  I tried again to install the battery life extender software, but I still get the same error message that the proper drivers are not installed.  I'd really like to be able to get a full charge on my battery so I have maximum power when traveling, but can't seem to find the solution to this problem.  Every thing I read says to adjust the battery life extender or disable it in the BIOS setup, but I don't have the option to do either.  Any additional thoughts?

    Thanks!
