I 'VE GOT A SONY VAIO LAPTOP,

WHICH GIVES ME PROBLEMS SOMETIMES.

I'VE MANAGED TO LOCK THE CAPS INTO PERMANENT CAPITAL LETTERS(BIG) AND

DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RELEASE THIS CAP, SO THAT I CAN WRITE IN SMALL OR BIG (NORMAL) LETTERS, AGAIN.

WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD DO TO RELEASE THIS CAPS LOCK?

THANK YOU!

    Hi CLARAMA2,

Thank you for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

You have an issue with the keyboard typing in upper case.  It can be difficult when something that is important to you does not work as expected. It is pretty simple and we are here to help you fix the issue. We will work as a team and get this sorted out.

    Please answer these questions-

    1)   Does this issue occur while typing on all the applications on the computer?

    2)   Have you made any other changes on the computer?

I would like more information regarding the issue.

    Method 1–

I would have you refer the steps to undo the changes-

    a)      Identify the “Caps lock” on the keyboard and check if the second light is lit from the list of three lights on top right corner of the keyboard.

    b)      If the light is lit, then it means that CAPS LOCK is “on”.

    c)      You need to press the CAPS LOCK once again and make sure that the light disappears as well.

    d)      Now, try and type. Check if the issue persists.

    Method 2-

If the issue is recent, then you can also perform a System Restore to undo the changes made on the computer.

    Refer the articles-

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Restore-system-files-and-settings

Note: Performing a System Restore will undo any changes made on your computer earlier. You may also lose unsaved information as well. Proceed at your own risk.

Additionally, refer the articles for reference-

Do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help. We, at Microsoft strive towards excellence and provide our customers with the best support.

    Thanks.

The simple answer is press the CAPS lock key once. Have you tried that?

If that does not work have you spilled any type of liquid over the keyboard. Coffee is notable for making keys stick. Try connecting a separate wired keyboard to the laptop. If it works you could have damaged the keyboard beyond repair.
