The removal process for About:blank is well documented.
This means that folks have purposely gotten their systems infected with the malware many times and practiced removing it until they understand the malware and how it works well enough to write a removal procedure.
You are unlikely to fix your system by trying things (well... you might get lucky in a few days). You can spend a lot of time messing around trying things that might work maybe sometimes or you can follow the procedure that has been proven to work many times.
You will do better if you follow instructions written by people who have actually successfully removed the infection at least once or twice.
