I have a new surface with windows RT. I want to be able to read books I've already purchased as kindle e-books.  Can I do this?  I've downloaded apps to be able to read kindle e-books on my PC, or even on my phone if I wanted to, and on another small tablet generic tablet that I have with an android app downloaded for that tablet to open kindle books. -- But, I can't seem to find an app allowing me to read my kindle books on the surface.  I hope this can be done and I just don't know how

    Hey there,

Open the store app, swipe the charm bar (that's from the right edge in case you didn't know), touch 'search,' type 'kindle,' touch 'search,' and the first app listed should be the official kindle app.

    Good luck and happy reading!

I've tried your reply - and thank-you -- it seems very straight forward, but I must have some other information missing for when I try to install the app, I get a message that says my purchase can't be completed, that "something happened" -- It doesn't matter how many times I try.  This is the same message I've had with most apps that are "free" that I've tried to download.  (I've only tried to download some free apps so far, but I always get this message...)

    Might you know why?

    Thanks

    Shelly

    Hey again,

It depends on what the 'something' is when you say 'something happened.' Is it possible to give the exact error message when you make the attempt to install from the store?
