I found the answer, use the FN key with prtsc

OMG... My new Toshiba Satellite S70-B(something) wouldn't do anything with the prtsc key.  Your solution worked instantly!  I don't do fancy stuff with screenshots, but I like to be able to take a shot of a map, paste it onto a Word document, and print it for my husband's quick reference in the car (I'm the one with the NavCommand System... he needs a little paper map.)

    Thanks a million!

If you go prtsc, you can paste the picture into Paint and use it from there.  If you go WIN-PRTSC, it will be put in a file in Libraries/Pictures/Screenshots.

Thanks but the whole point of my question is that the windows key/prtscn thing does not work, that's the problem

still no way of doing it then, why do microsoft give themselves auto good feedback and mark things as answered when the answer was no use whatsoever?

Sorry but it looks like you are the one who marked the responder's post as an Answer.   Unmark it if you don't want this thread marked Answered.

Also, it's not clear if you tried what was suggested or understood what was being implied.   Note that what was suggested was a workaround for what you were complaining about not working and a clarification of what you should be looking for in case it really was working but not the way you might have been assuming.   Otherwise you should change the title of your thread because it looks as if you are changing your problem description.   So, in fact, your OP should no longer say:  "title says it," and should clarify what you are really asking.
