Bought language CDs and need them on WMP but cannot get them on WMP - do not know why.  so loaded all onto itunes and they are MP4 file types..  Followed this advice from another forum but when I get to stage 8.  I don't have "Create MP3 Version" on my Advanced tab.  It says "Create AAC version." Can anyone help me?

To convert the songs to the format that the Windows Media Player can understand, Open iTunes and do the following steps:

  1. Click Edit, Preferences and go to the General tab
  2. Click on the "Import Settings" button
  3. Change the "Import Using" to "MP3 Encoder"
  4. Click OK and go back to your music library
  5. Change to list view and select the first song in your library
  6. Scroll all the way down to the last song in your library
  7. Press the Shift key and then click on the last song to select all of the songs in your library
  8. Click "Advanced" and then "Create MP3 Version"
  9. Your songs should start to convert and depending on how many songs you have in your library, this could take quite some time
  10. Open Windows Media Player and press F3 or click File, Add to Library
  11. Click OK- Windows Media Player should start to search for songs on your computer and after it has finished the search, you should find the songs from your iTunes Library in your Windows Media Player Library.

NOTE: This method will only work if you have bought iTunes plus songs or if you have converted the songs to iTunes Plus for 30c each

====================================

If your files are in the MP4 format and you require

MP3...the following freeware can convert them.

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System

Restore point before installing software or updates)

Freemake - Free Audio Converter

http://www.freemake.com/free_audio_converter/

(Windows XP / Vista / 7)

(***Carefully read *all* the install screens...there

may be some items you want to uncheck***)

When you have Freemake installed...open Freemake

and drag/drop your music files on the main screen.

Or...Left click the Audio button and Browse to the

folder your music files are saved in.

Select (highlight) the files you wish to import into

Freemake and left click the "Open" button.

When your music files are imported into Freemake,

Left click the MP3 icon at the bottom of the screen.

The "Output Parameters" screen will open.  Choose

a "Save To" folder so you can find the converted files.

Left click the "Convert" button and the files should be

converted very quickly.

That should do it...
