    Hello, SandyBritt!

    Make make sure you do the following:

     - log in as administrator;

     - install the latest Windows updates;

     - uninstall all DYMO software and re-start the computer;

     - download DYMO Label 8.4.2: http://download.dymo.com/software/win/dls842setup.exe;

     - run the installer as administrator;

     - only connect the printer when prompted at the end of the installation.

    Hi SandyBritt,

    Thank you for the reply. You don’t have to uninstall the network adapter driver but you can uninstall and reinstall Label Writer400 turbo printer drivers in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Follow these steps:

    Step 1:

    Uninstall Dymo Label Writer400 turbo printer drivers driver. Follow the steps:

    a.       Move the mouse to bottom left corner and right-click on the ‘Start icon’.

    b.      Select ‘device manager’.

    c.       Expand ‘Printer’ and right-click on ‘printer driver’ and select ‘uninstall’.

    Step 2:

    Download and install the latest network adapter drivers in Windows 7 compatibility mode and check if that helps. Follow these steps.

    a.       Download the LabelWriter 400 Turbo Label Printer driver from the link.

    http://sites.dymo.com/Support/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?MainTab=1&Tab=1&ProductID=69110(DYO)

    b.      Right-click on the driver and click on ‘properties’

    c.       Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 7 operating system from the drop down.

    d.      Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

    Thank for for the attempt.

    I tried Method 1 already, but Windows doesn't find the Dymo printer.

    Regarding Method 2, I have a new machine with W8, and I don't know how to put the machine in Windows 7 compatibility mode.  I'm pretty hesitant to uninstall a network adapter driver anyway without being pretty sure how to reinstall it (which I'm not).

    How do I even put my machine in W7 compatibility, and just as important get back out of it?

    Sorry for what may seem like a very basic question.
