I can't seem to install new fonts on my computer (Win7).  I've downloaded them from the web to my "Downloads" folder, but I can't find a way to get them into the Fonts folder.

I did.  But when I right-click on the font in my Downloads folder, I don't get any option to "Install"--so what do I do?

Right click on the font and select Properties

Under General Tab, click unblock

You might also try dragging and dropping the Font in Control Panel > Fonts Folder

I had the same problem. Try this:  download the fonts to a folder on your computer / locate the font files in said folder on your computer after downloading / open a Word document and drag them over into the document / All the font files (Italic version, bold version etc ) should line up in your Word document / double click each one in turn and when they open up in a separate window look up at the top and you'll see a wee button that says INSTALL / click it / Voila!   Remember to do the same for each icon file in turn.

Have you tried double clicking on the file?  When the dialogue box opens, there should be an option to install.

I have problem with installing fonts on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. First I've tried to install them from my regular account, but after entering administrator credentials nothing happened. I've logged as Administrator and installed fonts successfully (seen installation progress window), but fonts were installed only for administrator and I wasn't able to see them as regular user.

I have similar problems installing some other components and applications. The problem on my environment is that even soo I have separate Administrator account, it does not have full access to my laptop, and in particular it can't see User's folders.

Here's Solution I've found: In order to install anything I need to either share my user folder or to move installable component or application to shared location, for ex. C:\Temp directory. This way I was able to install fonts and everything else.

Unfortunately error message I've seen during installation wasn't clear and in case of font installation there was not error message at all.

There are several ways to install fonts on Windows 7. Here are step-by-step instructions. Keep in mind that you must be an Administrator on the target machine to install fonts.

The easiest way to install a font is to double-click on a font file to open the font preview and select 'Install'.
