Jawbone Jambox Speakers

The Jambox will connect to my computer but does not work as a speaker.  I spoke to Jawbone and they tried to tell me that my computer manufacturer needs to provide me with a driver for the Jambox to work as a bluetooth device.  I explained to her that if you add an peripheral to a computer that it is that responsibility of that peripheral manufacturer to provide the driver for that peripheral.  She says that the Jambox does not need a driver, but that my computer needs a driver.  What are they teaching these poor tech support people at Jawbone?  That is going to come off as a total dodge of responsibility by Jawbone.  They should have made sure that the device had a downloadable driver at the very least.  Please help.

    Hey Rob,

We have actually tackled this around the office and have a resolution here for you:

In order to get it to work you have to go into Devices and Printers and go into the properties of the Jambox. Go to the Services tab and check off all of the options. (they are not selected by default) Hit apply.

To get JamBox working go into Devices and Printers.

Then under Jambox go to Properties.

Go to the services tab and check Off all of the options (they are not selected by default.)

Hit Apply and you should be all set.

If you run into any more issues, just post back, otherwise thanks for posting and enjoy your surface!

I think that Microsoft should stop, I mean stop, the Notes regarding third party software caveats. It reflects a corporate mentality that hinders its acceptance within the consumer community.

Of course, Jawbone's Jambox should work with Bluetooth - no matter who makes the darn hardware.  Bluetooth is supposed to be a cross-platform function.  If any bluetooth device cannot hook up to the surface - and MS requires some sort of BS certification

    • then it is MS's fault.... expecially with such market accepted products such as Jambox.

    Rob

I have the problem you described. I tried your solution, but there is no services tab when I go to properties. I am running Windows 10 and have a legacy mini Jambox.

Are you saying all the boxes on the services tab should be checked and then apply or unchecked and then apply?  I have tried it both ways and restarted my Surface and nothing works.  Jambox shows as Offline in Devices in PC Settings.  Thoughts?
