Problem with Transcend 8GB USB 2.0 JetFlash Drive TS8GJF300

Hello,

I recently installed Windows 8 and then the problems started.

The highlights:

  1. USB flash drive worked fine on Windows 7 (it is working, never buggy)
  2. if it is inserted into the usb 3.0 port then it works fine (thanks to the installed drivers separately), if in the 2.0 - the computer sees that there is a device, but come on it does not and can not format too
  3. if you leave the stick in the port and restart the computer, it starts to work fine, but if you get it, and then he put in - the same problem
  4. insert various flash drives - all work fine
  5. My brother, too, is windows 8 - the same problem (except that it does not have usb3.0 and he did not even use)
  6. tried to format the different formats - does not help

Do not know what to do

I need your help

    Hi Pavel,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and we are glad to assist you on this issue.

As per the query, it seems like Transcend 8GB USB 2.0 Jet Flash Drive TS8GJF300 does not work properly when connected to the computer.

Transcend 8GB USB 2.0 USB drive is compatible with Windows 8.

You can refer to the link to check for the compatibility using Windows compatibility center:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win8/CompatCenter/ProductDetailsViewer?Name=Transcend%20Information%20JetFlash%20300%208GB%20USB%20Flash%20Drive&vendor=Transcend&Locale=1033&ModelOrVersion=TS8GJF300&BreadCrumbPath=TS8GJF300%20&Type=Hardware&tempOsid=win8

Since, it is an issue related to hardware device, let’s check if the hardware and device troubleshooter does resolves the issue.

    You can follow the methods:

    Method 1:

I would suggest you to run the hardware and device troubleshooter and check if it helps.

You can refer to the link to run the troubleshooter:

Follow the section “Run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter”

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/what-device-isnt-installed-properly

    Method 2:

I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the USB drivers again. Check if it helps.

    You may follow the steps:

    a) Press Windows and x key together and select Device Manager.

    b) Locate the Universal Serial Bus controller and expand it.

    c) Right click on each USB driver and click on Uninstall.

    d) Restart the computer.

After restarting the computer, all the USB drivers would be reinstalled automatically on the

    computer.

If the issue still occurs, I would suggest you to check for the latest driver for the USB drive at Transcend website. You can refer to the link to check:

    http://www.transcend-info.com/Support/index.asp?Func1No=3&LangNo=0

    Hope it helps.

Feel free to contact us if you have any other Windows related issue and we would be glad to help

    you.

    Hi Pinaki,

Today I tried your advice and no one has helped to change the situation ((

    Maybe there are some possibilities?

Same "Windowz Special" story with my 4G Transcend retractable USB Pendrive. Works fine in XP, WIN7 and Linux, but not in Windows 8.1

Hello,I Too Had the Same Problem But Solution Is Simple Just Download Any Linux Based Live CD Which Are Now A Days About 600MB In Size And Normally Boot It.

As Linux Based OS Are Open Source It Is Then Possible To Access Your Transcend 8GB USB 2.0 JetFlash Drive TS8GJF300 Much Simpler And Faster Or You Can Enable Windows 8 Pro's Hyper V

And Use It For Creating New Virtual Machine And Install Any OS Other Than Windows 8 And Access Your Transcend 8GB USB 2.0 JetFlash Drive TS8GJF300.

And Lastly No Solution Worked For Me In Windows 8--- All The Way From Device Manager To Updating/Removing Drivers.

    Regards,

    Razor.
