Definition Update failed for Windows Defender - KB915597 (Definition 1.143.2086.0)

All other windows updates were fine. How can I download this update please?

 Installation status: Failed

 Error details: Code 80070670

 Update type: Important : Install this update to revise the definition files used to detect spyware and other potentially unwanted software. Once you have installed this item, it cannot be removed.

    Windows Defender on W7 is disabled to prevent software conflicts by antimalware programs such as (but not necessarily limited to) AVG, McAfee, MSE and Norton.

    Are you even using WD - I no longer use it on any of my computers?  If WD is disabled just "hide" that update since it's not needed.

    Thank you for your reply. Yes, I do use WD and all updates for it have been fine, just this one that has failed.

    Open your WD program and see if the definitions appear current.

    If so, just delete/remove/hide that update left over from December...it's not needed.

    If you wish to use WD on your W7 computer that's your option but be sure it does not interfere with your resident AV program.
