what does user intervention mean with a printer?

User intervention just means it requires some sort of human action such

as clearing a paper jam, replacing a cartridge, or many other possible

actions.

As OEM HP is responsible for the proper operation of the printer and their

supplied drivers. Check with HP Support, their on-line documentation and

drivers, and ask in their forums.

Good chance you need to update or re-install the latest available driver.
