Hello Sathish
I did have AVG security software installed on my PC, although it has been disabled for a week or more.
I have attempted to uninstall this but although the desk top icons disappeared and AVG Uninstaller reported that it had been successfully removed from my computer, AVG 2013 (size 77.97MB) was still shown in the Currently Installed Programs list. I repeated this 3 times with restarts after each but the result was the same.
The only perceived change was that the 7006 system errors shown in the Event Viewer on restart have now changed to 7003 and 7024, with properties:
"The AVG ID Agent Service depends on the following non existant service AVG IDS Driver" and " The AVG Watchdog Service terminated with the specific error----"
I am still unable to download and run Google Earth, it appears that AVG is causing a problem. How can I completely remove it?
Mike
