    I had same problem.

    try to do it:

Step 1: download this driver archive:

drivers Radeon HD 2000 series - Windows 8.rar (99.2 MB)

    https://mega.co.nz/#!F0cVRYhY!EWWe-zxClWeB6J\_iz-g1k1yP1hpxptfMz3kucv\_Tr58

    Step 2: Extract archive.

Step 3: Right click the "basic display adapter" on device manager, and "update driver"

Step 4: select option "driver with disc"

Step 5: Just search the folder that you "drivers Radeon HD 2000 series - Windows 8" and click to update (install)

You are wonderful Carlos. I have just migrated from xp through to 8.1 and have been totally frustrated by the resolution problems with my old Radeon 2100 Graphics card. Downloading AMD Catalyst center & latest drivers didn't help, but you have. I am very grateful. I was nearly at the slashing wrists stage. Now I think I shall open a bottle of wine to celebrate one small victory! I know only too well there will still bea lot for me to do to personalize Windows 8.1!

    Go to here..

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

When you get the option to auto detect your video card, take it and then download and install what it offers.

The driver is as good as it gets. You can see from the column on the right side that only the Radeon HD 5000 and better still get full support..
