My Hp laserjet P1005 can´t install, doesn't work with windows 8

When I connected my HP LaserJet P1005 it was not placed in printers but in other devices.

I can´t find a printer driver in Windows 8 nor on the HP-site.

Can I download another driver en let my printer work.

Please explain the steps I have tot take.

If you haven't already check this out:

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html and follow Instructions and download and install all windows 8 drivers/software. Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to help you.

Download the Win 7 driver version and run in compatibility mode.

Uninstall your printer and remove it from the USB.

Reboot the computer to clear the system.

Shutdown the system and reconnect the printer to the USB drive. Turn on the printer. Restart and the computer will try to install legacy drivers for the printer.

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

I tried method 2 but the installer stops after 3 indication blocks. Then a message follows that the installationprogram don´t work.

I downloaded ljP1000_P1500-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe and changed in the properties to Windows 7 compatibility

What now?
