Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forums.
As per the description provided, I understand that you have performance issues with Windows 7 computer. I will certainly
help you on this issue.
I appreciate if you could help me with more information.
1.
Do you receive any error message/code?
2.
What is the make and model number of the computer?
If you use a computer frequently, then at one time or another you have probably gotten a message pop up on the screen
that says a .dll file is missing. When this happens, you may not be able to load a program or access parts of the Windows operating system. The .dll files could have been removed by a newly installed program, corrupted, deleted or erased because of errors
on the hard drive. Try these steps.
Method 1:
Boot the computer in safe mode and check whether the issue persists, if the issue does not persist then perform Clean
Boot and check whether the issue resolves.
Step 1:
Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs don't run in safe mode, and only
the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed. Please click on the mentioned link below.

Step 2:
To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup
programs. This kind of startup is known as a "Clean Boot." A Clean Boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After Clean Boot troubleshooting step, refer to “How to reset the
computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with Clean Boot” from the article.
Method 2:
I would suggest you to run SFC scan.

Yes you can fix this kind of issues when you upgrade to Windows 8. You can upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8, you
will not lose any data.
