Help with Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 V2.0 laser/sensor part thing doesn't work!

I haven't used this mouse and keyboard in a while, so when I started using it again, the mouse didn't work! The keyboard works, though! The mouse is a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 V2.0 and the keyboard is a Microsoft Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 V3.0. For the mouse, the Left Click and Right Clicks work and the Mousewheel works, but the laser/sensor part thing doesn't work! It won't move around even though I connected it like a billion times and I even put new batteries in. The laser part says Microsoft Laser Technology, if that helps at all. I am running Windows XP and it's 32 bit. Thanks for your help!

If not too late, this may work...press "receiver" button and "connect channel" button (small white button on bottom of keyboard) AT THE SAME TIME.  I found this fix on another forum when my MS Wireless Laser Keyboard 6000 v2 stopped working suddenly.  Hopefully this was helpful to you or to anyone else who may be having issues with the MS Wireless Laser Keyboard/Mouse 6000 series.

    Good luck!

...press "receiver" button and "connect channel" button (small white button on bottom of keyboard) AT THE SAME TIME,   ThIS doES  work!!!!!!  I had spent literally hours going in circles with all indications that the wireless 5000 keyboard  was 'working properly' but yet it would not type anything.  So I finally held down the receiver button and the little connect button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and walla. It worked.  I had latterly spent days installing and uninstalling and changing batteries etc.   Hope you get the results you need !!

And then: Update Driver>Recommended>Had the best one already.

So, I really don't know what to do... Please help! Thanks!
