I've just installed Windows 8 PRO on my Vaio SVE1511MFXS, installed all drivers for windows 8 (including wifi) but Vaio Smart Network doesn't seens to work.
It installs correctly but doesn't appear on my task bar or Metro. But after rebooting my notebook I can see it through Task Manager, but it still doesn't work.
Because it's not working I can't connect through wifi (this notebook doesn't have a physical button to turn on wireless).
Is anyone else having this issue? If so, have you guys managed to get it to work?
I tried contacting sony but they don't know what could be.

Same problem here.
Apparently due to dependencies, there is an order to which Vaio drivers you install first, but I didn't find that very helpful.
Also tried to install and run the program in Windows 7 compatibility mode, but all I get is a blank Vaio Smart Network window with no buttons in it.
UPDATE: just a warning, apparently if you install Vaio Smart Network in compatibility mode, you can't uninstall it. You'll get OS not supported error.
I have the same problem. very sad. we will wait for updates and to write letters to Sony tech support.
At sony's forum, people are complaining that Vaio Smart Security isn't compatible with windows 8.
So we should wait for an update
Same problem here. Very frustrating. How can they offer a Sony uppgrade, and forget about a wi-fi driver? Kindergarden management for expensive equipment....
