I got a Bluescreen and it said:

"If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen..."

And then my computer restarded and told me a message how windows wasnt stopped in a proper manner.

After that I had this message:

  C:\Users\Alan\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-11419-0.sysdata.xml

I have attached the dmp file that was created, cant seem to be able find that xml file though.

I use Windows 7 Home Edition 64-bit, with an ASUS GTX570 graphic card and an ASUS P8P67 REV 3.0 motherboard.

Had this computer since October 2011, never had anything like this happen, I should mention in case that is related that only a couple hours earlier I used Nvidia Control panel to change RGB dynamic range from 16-235 Limited to 0-255 Full, it was the first time that i did this and I didnt change anything else and when this occured I wasnt doing anything special, I was just checking things on ebay.

You can get the dmp file here:

XanaduThis one crash was Related to Rt64win7.sys 8101E/8168/8169 NDIS 6.20 64-bit Driver from Realtek Corporation.  Yours is 2 years old and needs updating.  Re-install newest even if it is the same date.

    BugCheck D1, {fffff8800698e000, 2, 0, fffff880044cd79e}

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for Rt64win7.sys

*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for Rt64win7.sys

    Probably caused by : Rt64win7.sys ( Rt64win7+7579e )

    Other old drivers needing updating

    000.fcl    9/13/2007 11:39:17 PM

    spldr.sys    5/11/2009 12:56:27 PM

    AsUpIO.sys    7/5/2009 10:21:38 PM

    How To Find Drivers:

    • search Google for the name of the driver
    • compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    • visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    • if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program

The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference

    http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.php

    http://sysnative.com/drivers/

And if you continue to crash I would remove and replace Avast with Microsoft Security Essentials

"did you change the Nvidia RGB dynamic range back to the original setting ?

Unfortunately the dmp file didn't reveal anything in particular other than the Nvida driver

    is what crashed"

Yes absolutly I changed it back right away, I didnt want to take any risks, also from what I can read on the internet if you use HDMI you can not change the Dynamic Range, yet I am freely able to, but even if I am able to change it I am pretty sure it doesnt work as I didnt notice any differences in-game.

Also I never installed any Beta Drivers, only WHQL from nvidia and use Nvidia Inspector for games.

"Always reboot after uninstalling, even if there is no message to do so."

I was suspecting as much that it was the way to proceed, thanks for letting me know.

Please download and run Driver View and upload a copy of the report it produces to your Sky Drive.

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Please upload to your Sky Drive, share with everyone and post a link here.

    Driver... not less or equal

Actually a very common generic BSOD error message.

It could be many things, but in addition to what has been suggested by Anil Kumar,

did you change the Nvidia RGB dynamic range back to the original setting ?

Unfortunately the dmp file didn't reveal anything in particular other than the Nvida driver

is what crashed, but this does not always mean the Nvidia driver is the source of the crash.

    • If you have installed a BETA driver I would suggest removing that and installing a WHQL

    driver.

Personally, using Device Manager is OK for uninstalling generic Windows drivers, but

I wouldn't use Device Manager or Windows updates for graphics drivers.

The best method is to download only from Nvidia (or in the case of laptops and sometimes

DELL, HP from the mfg. ), and uninstall via Programs and Features. Always reboot after uninstalling,

even if there is no message to do so.

NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search

BSOD's can happen without a serious underlying issue. Particularly if you push the graphics settings

in games (doesn't everyone ;) ?   ).  If it was only the one time, or very infrequent it's probably

    nothing to worry about.

You can export a new System info file. Just type  msinfo32 into the Run command, or Start button

Search Bar to open system configuration.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forums.

Based on the issue description I understand that you receive Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Windows 7 computer.

If you received a blue screen error, or stop code, the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from data loss. A hardware device, its driver, or related software might have caused this error. This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced.

I would suggest you to refer the help article and check if it helps.

Mostly likely cause of this issue is defective or mismatched RAM (Random Access Memory). See if the problem exists with combinations as you swap it in and out.

Method 1: Run Memory Diagnostics test to check for any memory problems. Refer the below mentioned link for the same.

Diagnosing memory problems on your computer

Method 2: Update the chipset, video card, display and network adapter drivers to the latest by visiting the computer manufacturer’s website.

Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

    Update drivers: recommended links

Refer the below mentioned link for more information.

Resolving stop (blue screen) errors in Windows 7

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost

    Hope it helps.

Keep us posted if you face any issues related to BSOD on Windows in future. We will be glad to help you.
