I have a Microsoft MN-500 Broadband Networking Wireless Base Station which ran well on my old PC which ran XP SP3.  I now have a laptop running XP SP3 and when I try to use the wireless router, it says that there is a "compatability issue with this version of Windows even though it is the SP3 XP as my old PC.  I can't find any solution on the Microsoft web sites.  Any ideas?

Rather than struggle attempting to find out how this computer with XP (which of Home/Pro/Media Center?) sp 3 is different from your old computer with XP (which Home/Pro/Media Center?) sp 3, just configure the MN-500 the way most modern routers are configured:  open a web browser and use the address 192.168.2.1 (unless you changed the default).

Thanks so much for your prompt reply Sathish.  As forgot to bring my router home from our cabin, I won't be able to try your suggestions for a couple of weeks when we are next there but I will let you know how I make out.

What I don't understand though is how the router was working fine on an old PC that ran the same operating system as the newer laptop, namely Windows XP SP3?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Bob
