    Hi Hitesh Aggarwal,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community Forums.

Here is the difference between CAN (campus area network) and Lan (Local Area Network).

Campus Area Network: This applies to multiple small LANs that are connected across multiple buildings within a small area. It’s common to see CANs used to link up multiple buildings of a large company’s head office, a military base, or even a college campus.

Local Area Network: This is the simplest and most common type of network. Most LANS exist within a very small geographic area, or even within the same building. The wireless network in your home can be said to be a type of LAN.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi ,

    CAN and LAN-

CAN full form campus area networkthat is not clear for me. I have a doubt that is there any such type of network type is there in Computer networking. Wherever CAN type protocol is not available in Computer network.

CAN -It is a protocol, which we use in automotive vehicle industry. CAN Full form controller area network , called CAN BUS.

    More details:-

LAN- Local area network . which is used to interconnect the computer in Local area.
