I have this on my computer. When I try to uninstall it from control panel it throws up a phoney install wizard not the usual Microsoft wizard.

I have downloaded and run Microsoft safety scanner however it is still there. Can anyone help.

    Hello,

The install manager may remain on your computer until the actual Catalyst center is removed. However, I do not recommend this as it is the program that manages the graphics card installed on your computer.

Some programs do use their own version of an installer, this may be why it looks different than what you are used to. Pay attention to which folder the program installs in (normally C:\Programs). Be sure to set a Restore Point before installing/uninstalling as well. You will find steps here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/create-a-restore-point

If you can't be sure then be safe. Hope this helps.

    Hi Michael,

It's probably the programs own built in uninstall tool, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you are not sure, please refer to the link below.

    Good Luck.

    Michael and Alamo,

The first time I heard about AMD Catalyst Install Manager was yesterday, August 16, 2017 when an IObit Uninstaller pop-up wanted to uninstall seven files remaining from an incomplete uninstall. Wow! I had not been requested to install the program and I do not know if it was originally installed on this 2015 laptop. My HP unit runs on AMD A8-6410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics, etc. processor. I did notice an app dated 8/16/17 reading AMD Software by  Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (26.3 MB). Who may have installed it, and apparently deleted some files leaving some behind as per IObit? If it was an upgrade, shouldn't AMD have asked permission to change anything in my computer? Yesterday's date on the app tells me that whatever happened it was without my permission. Please advise. Thank you
