Why can't I play Counter Strike 1.6 in Windows 8?

Original Title:(Help) Counter Strik 1.6 p48

I was wondering if there is any way to Open Counter Strike 1.6 protocol 48 in Windows 8, i was trying everything but still cant play CS in my Windows 8 PRO. Help if someone know something -,-

    As the game is not compatible with Windows 8, I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the game and check. Here is the link for your reference.

    ok, but then, how come my friend having the same windows8 is playing cs 1.6 flawlessly but i am unable to. CS Source is compatible but covers 5 times more space on the hard disk (without any substantial improvement in the game). So i desperately want to know whats the matter with my OS.

    1.      What happens when you try to play the game?

    -Nothing happend I cant play the game cuz Windows 8 cant open it.

    2.      Do you get any error message?

    -No errors just show up a window, "Did this program worked Correctly".

    3.      Have you already installed the game or trying to install it?

    -I have installed it for thousand times, uninstall-install, installed in XP SP3 Mode, but nothing still cant Open Game, dont know what to do :/

    Could you answer few questions:

    1.      What happens when you try to play the game?

    2.      Do you get any error message?

    3.      Have you already installed the game or trying to install it?

    It looks like Counter strike 1.6 is not compatible with windows 8. You can go through the link for your reference.

    I would suggest you to uninstall the game and then install it in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

    Step 1:

    Follow these steps to uninstall the game.

    a. Press Windows key + X and select Control panel.

    b. Select Uninstall a program

    c. Select Counter Strike 1.6  from the list and select Uninstall.

    Step 2:

    Follow the steps to install in Compatibility mode:

    a.       Right click the set up file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.

    b.      Place a check in the Run this program in compatibility mode box.

    c.       Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous Operating System, then tap or click OK.
