Hi I've been having trouble with one game - it's extremely frustrating that I've bought a game called "resident evil 6" through steam. Put a ticket in but noones answered it in a week. Hoping for a fast response here D:! Anyway, the issue is that when I first installed resident evil, it took about an hour of "installing directx for me to cancel the process as I got bored. After cancelling, I reinstalled and it completely skipped installing directx, loaded up the game fine. The game loaded and to my horror the game had no sound!? I was hearing sound in all other games, and notifications during the silent game, looked in options and the game says sound is full blast!? I have assumed it is a directx error, decided to reinstall directx11 as it is an windows 8 computer and dxdiag said I was running 11 with no issues. Once the installer opened, however lags completely and just doesn't install, just sits at the same space, I closed it after 5 hours and clicked it again and now it doesn't even open after many tries to reinstall directx but failing. Why does directx only fail with this game? I tried reinstalling .netframework, the game, directx, I just do not know what my issue is, and dxdiag doesn't either.

Help please :(

So basically it is a problem of the game. If you have any installation media available, please reinstall the game.

Hey thanks for the reply :).

Yes only this game, all other games work perfectly.

The game tried to install directx but failed, so multiple reinstalls of this.

Yes the issue only occurs during resident evil 6.

No it does not occur with any other game.

Hello, thanks again for the reply.

I have checked all options and they have sound,

The latest install doesn't seem to work for me for some reason, the exe just doesn't open when I click it now.

And I've tried reinstalling directx11 which is the most up to date software there is...

Windows updates also fails at installing the software.

I've even tried reinstalling windows using a disk. But still it's only this game with no sounds

Hi again Jordan,

Here are a few ways to drive away the problem:

Open the in- game sound settings and check If everything is correct and the volume is turned up. Don't forget to save any changes. If you want, you may try restarting the game.
If that does not work, try installing the latest update or patch for the game.
I see that DirectX installation was abrupt, so also try installing the latest version of DirectX.
Use Windows Update to update DirectX:

Windows Update is included in Control Panel. To check for updates:

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, then tap Search.

If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, then click Search.

Enter Windows Update in the search box, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click Install optional updates.
