New Windows 8 pc does not allow me to print in color with my Xerox 6128mfp

I just went through and setup our new computer which has Windows 8 loaded on it. When I print using our Xerox Phaser 6128MFP, the prints come out in black and white only. All other pc's using either XP or Windows 7 will print in color from this printer. I do not see where i can go in and make any manual adjustments as I was able to do with the previous versions of Windows. According to Xerox they do not have updated drivers for Windows 8 and instruct me to use the default drivers from Microsoft.

Any suggestions?

Got it working. thanks! I didn't uninstall the MS driver before nor did I select the Xerox Phaser 6180MFP-N under the "Configurations:" entry. I did have to go into the "Earth Smart" setup and turn off the Banner pages. This was found under the Advanced tab of the Printing Preferences.

    Thanks again.

This is the response I received from Xerox. It was not useful at all. The global drivers they refer do not work either. As a matter of fact the recommended driver will print out pages and pages of gibberish.

    From Xerox:

    Hello ,

Thank you for contacting the North American E-mail Support Team.

    Please try these steps :

Click on the [Start] menu, and then select [Devices and Printers].

Right-click on the printer icon, and then select [Printer Properties].

The Print Driver Properties window will be displayed.

    Click on the [Options] tab.

Click on [Basic Printing Mode] to make the Configuration pull-down menu available.

Select the correct printer model from the pull-down menu.

    Click on the [Apply] button.

    Click on the [OK] button.

Close the Devices and Printers window.

If it does not work then remove and reinstall the driver  using the Xerox Global print driver :

BTW, according to this, updated drivers are to be expected from Xerox within the following 2 months.

So in the worst case I guess this would be time for the resolving of this matter.

I have the exact same problem as Jeff.

Installed Win8 and using built-in drivers for the Xerox 6128MFP. Options show B&W and Color, but no matter what I do, it always comes out B&W.

OK, so I found where to set the printer preferences, however color printing is already checked. Still printing in b/w only.
