Original title: Windows 7 BSOD Memory Dump Error Help.

I was downloading a game modification which I've downloaded, installed, and used before without issue but I was running the installer and had a browser open and my pc BSOD. I understand that my issue is a memory management error and I've viewed the error and diagnosed it via the memory diagnostic tool on windows and I was informed that I had hardware that needed fixing. However I have no idea from the dump file info what "ntoskrnl.exe" is and I have no idea how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey James,

I would suggest you to check the virtual memory set.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/change-the-size-of-virtual-memory

Note: if the virtual memory is set to a minimum size, then change the value accordingly after going through the article.

You may also perform Check Disk to make sure that this isn’t a hard disc issue.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/check-a-drive-for-errors

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost.

Let us know if this helps.

    Hi James,

Whenever i see the 1a bsod Memory management, my first port of call is always to check the memory and harddrive for errors. This error is often (not always) attributed to memory failure so its best to check that out first.  You could also try reseating and pulling a memory module out one at a time and testing the system to see if it stabilises.

    Hope that helps.

Please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key. Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Please upload to your Sky Drive, share with everyone and post a link here.

Please upload and share with everyone copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your Sky Drive and post a link here.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log.

For help with Sky Drive see paragraph 9.3:

I had the same issue again so I don't believe either of those solutions worked.
