Microsoft Basic Display Driver On Non-Existent Monitor

Hello,

I am currently trying to get my GPU installed on my Desktop computer. As of right now it'll play games and such but when I try to use anything that needs to locate the video card for things such as OpenCL it can't locate the it or the drivers.

I am thinking it has something to do with something I am seeing inside my display settings. It shows I have two monitors connected and they are using different adapters. One being my AMD and the other being Microsoft Basic Display Driver. The monitor I am currently using shows up as the second monitor in the list. The weird thing about it is that the driver version for the first Microsoft Basic Render Driver in the .nfo below is actually the driver for the AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series but the AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series shows the driver version as Not Available.....

Here is what my system.nfo says under the display compenent:

    Hello,

Contact the manufacturer of your PC and  get the drivers for the graphics card...

    Okay,

So after hours spent dealing with AMD and XFX and re-installing my drivers, my card it's self and then finally having to do a system restore I realized it worked fine until I used windows update. I then went through my updated in small blocks to see where the problem was and found out there was and update that was causing this issue.

The update is KB2795944. When installed I get  two Name Microsoft Basic Render Driver added onto my display drivers when I look at my system.nfo "msinfo32".

So for now I'm just not going to update my system with this update and go about my day being able to use my graphics card the way it's meant to be used.

    Hello,

The card I am using is a 3rd party card. I use the Radeon HD 7770 and I have the up to date drivers for the card. The issue at this point actually seems to be a windows update. I am narrowing it down right now to witch one. I have uninstalled all the updated and it fixed the issue. I have checked to make sure it wasn't a security update and it wasn't so just going through the rest of them once I know which update is causing the error with my current, and I must add, up to date AMD driver.
