Can't Adjust Screen Brightness on Samsung Laptop

Hi,

I can't seem to adjust the brightness of my screen. I've used the 'Fn' key, gone to the Settings icon to where it gives you the option to power down, adjust volume, check wireless status, etc., and have even gone into my Control Panel to tweak the power options. None of these are doing anything to help the situation.

What am I missing?

    Hi,

The issue seems to be with the display card drivers. I would suggest you to update the drivers for the display card from the manufacturers website and see if that helps.

Follow the steps to update the Video card driver:

    a. Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.

    b. Expand ‘Display Adapters’.

    c. Right-click on the Video card listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software’.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other issues with Windows in future.

    Hi,

This issue might occur even if the latest display drivers are not installed on your computer.

I would suggest you to download and install the latest display drivers from the manufactures’ website and check if it helps.

Note: If the issue still persists, I recommend you to contact the Samsung support and check if there is any setting that needs to be enabled from on the laptop.

Keep us updated on the status of the issue.

I have tried the following but still didn't work :

    • Updated all the drivers using Driver Reviver.
    • Did the Windows Update, No update at all.

Note: I'm using Windows 8 on a Samsung Ultra Series 5

    Thanks for the reply.

I did contact Samsung and they told me there a Hardware Issue .

But then to inform you guys, everything was doing great and ok BEFORE I upgraded to Windows 8.

Please check your OS guys. I'm just creakingly angry about the issue, I find it very hard to type and watch videos.

I tried this and it looked like it had stared to download. It then stopped after 10 minutes and referred me to the Samsung website - where I found no help t all! Can you suggest anything else - I'm desperate?
