How to erase a CD-RW in Windows Media Player

When I try to erase the content on my CD-RW, Windows Media Player gives an error: Windows Media Player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your drive. Try inserting a different kind of recordable media or use a disc that supports a write speed that is compatible with your drive. How do I do I fix this so I can erase the content of the disc?

Also, when I go into Computer and click on the CD-RW and try to erase it I get an error: There was a problem erasing this disc. The wizard can't finish erasing this disc. Please try to erase it again. If this problem continues, there might be a problem on the disc that is preventing you from erasing it. What could this "problem" on the disc be, and how do I fix it?
