I don't know anything about this.

I don't even know what's wrong with this.

So please take a look at this photo.

Click here.

Specs:

Win7

1GB Ram

that's all I can remember.

It's been like that for months so I think it's about time to find a way to make this work.

I just skip this through F1 then Esc. but I'm tired doing that and the pc runs so slow. :(

Help me!

The CMOS hold the current hardware configuration of the computer such that it is stored when the computer is off and is reloaded when turned back on. The error message at the bottom of the screen indicates the information cannot be understood so want you to press F1 to set this up again.

In most cases this is because the battery which maintains the information is flat, supported by the fact that the time has failed as well which although a separate chip is maintained by the same battery.

If you open the computer you should find a silver battery mounted on the board. Normally a CR2032 (20mm diameter 3.2mm thick) these are readily available from shops. The holder does vary but most often a small metal tooth hooked on to one edge is pushed away and it pops, replace the new one with the lettering upwards.

Once done restart the computer and press the F1 key, set the time and F10 to save the default settings is enough to get the computer started.

No its not the holder, just the battery itself. If you are happy to fit a new component such as a memory stick inside the computer then have a look at this (about 1 minute in you can see what it is you are looking for) or read this article.

If you are not sure then any Computer shop should be able to do this, even the Geek Squad or Know How guys should be able to do this without breaking anything (yes it's that simple).

So I should call someone professional to replace that holder something?

The 1st thing to do is to open the computer and see if you can find the battery. Does it look like the one in the video (1st link, 1 minute from the start) or the pictures (2nd link). The video shows the most common layout in a PC and the commonest battery is a CR2032 but the number will be stamped on the face. These batteries are now frequently used in calculators, kitchen scales etc. and I know my local supermarket sells them.

Is the battery available in shops? Can I change the battery myself?

How much is that battery? Is there specific type of that battery? Or different kinds of battery?

Sorry if I have too many questions! I'm gonna download that video, so I don't have to load it again if I want to see it again. Lol

Thank you for your responses! ^___^
