I have tried all solutions except solution going to regedit and checking auto updates. going to proceed there next. Another piece of information. I do not have automatic updates in services local. I am not sure if regedit will make it show up? I have no problem installing windows security essentials and it scans and shows to be update with latest virusdefinitions. When I restart or shutdown overnight  essentials shows good green with check. When I check it shows last time updated was when I installed it. I go to update and get the same error message as I do with windows update. I also can't find the file MSNCC.exe  When I review windows security center it says auto update is off and cant update from there and tells me to go to system auto update. I get same message as I do with win. essentials. It acts like I have never been there and wants me to update.
