Sony Optiarc AD 7230S DVD drive isn't working.

Original title: opticart DVD+RW AD-7230S DOESN'T WORK

I HEVE WINDOWS 7 ON MI PC, BUT THE SYSTEM DOESN'T RECOGNIZE THE DVD ROM. THIS DEVICE IS A OPTICART AD-7230S.  BEFORE TO UPDATE THE OS TO WIN 7 I USED TO HAVE WINDOWS XP PROFESIONAL AND EVERYTHING WEE WORKS FINE.  I ALREADY CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURE AND THEY TOLL ME TO CONTACT MICROSOFT TO FIX THIS ISSUE. MAYBE CAN BE A PROBLEN IN THE REGISTRY BUT WHEN FOLLOWED THE e Troubleshooting in Windows.  NOTHING HAPPENED.  I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP.

THE SYSTEM IS UPDATED AND ALSO THE DRIVERS.

Hi Leo,

Since the DVD drive worked fine in Windows XP, it is most likely a compatibility issue.

Here’s what you can try:

Un-install and re-install the driver and check if the issue is resolved.

Follow these steps to do so:

**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open the Device Manager.

**b.**Expand DVD/CD-ROM drive and right-click on the DVD-ROM drive.

**c.**Select Un-install and follow the prompted steps.

Restart the computer when prompted.

Step 2: Scan for Hardware Changes.

**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open the Device Manager.

**b.**Right-click on DVD/CD-ROM Drive and select Scan for Hardware Changes.

You can also try to install the driver in compatibility mode and check if the issue is resolved. Refer to this link to learn how to do so:
