Since the DVD drive worked fine in Windows XP, it is most likely a compatibility issue.
Here’s what you can try:
Un-install and re-install the driver and check if the issue is resolved.
Follow these steps to do so:
**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open the Device Manager.
**b.**Expand DVD/CD-ROM drive and right-click on the DVD-ROM drive.
**c.**Select Un-install and follow the prompted steps.
Restart the computer when prompted.
Step 2: Scan for Hardware Changes.
**a.**On the desktop, press Windows key + R and type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open the Device Manager.
**b.**Right-click on DVD/CD-ROM Drive and select Scan for Hardware Changes.
