Hi,
Thank you for posting your issue on Microsoft Community Forums.
The socket error 11001 occurs when there is failure to link to a server from a client through the Internet. This results in the user being unable to access a particular site or FTP through the Internet service.
There are many reasons why a user may receive the socket error. It could mean that there was a change in the host name or that it was spelled incorrectly. Oftentimes, a firewall may be blocking server access.
I would suggest you to disable firewall or antivirus and see if that works.
Refer:
Turn Windows Firewall on or off

Note: Turning off Windows Firewall might make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage from worms or hackers.
Disable antivirus software
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-vista/disable-antivirus-software
Important Note**:** Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
