My laptop was repaired sometime ago after it crashed, when I ran the Microsoft check to check my license agreement it failed saying my version of XP Pro was not genuine (it says its a corporate copy not an individual copy for home use). I have checked the product key with the label on the bottom of my laptop and its different? So............how do I put my genuine 25 digit code back in.........bearing in mind I know nothing about setting computors up!
thanks for any help

Lots of web sites that describe the process (search the Internet for change XP product key ), including this one at PCSupport.about.com : Change the Windows XP Product Key Code
Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry might damage your system and prevent Windows from starting. Before doing it, back up your important data, make a restore point, and make sure you know how to repair a damaged system.
Just got off a very frustrating 1.5 hour support call with MS. After validating my license, they basically gave me a big FU because I don't have the exact installation CD. My company has over 30 XP licenses that aren't being used and can't be used in the future because MS REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE THEM. Well FU too MS.
theres a tab for xp
Carey,
