Good day

I hope that you can asap.

After HP/ Windows update of HP Probook 4530s. Audio is not working. If you search for microphone the Manage audio devises or Sound Box shows under Playback and Recording that there are NO devices installed.  During the update it asked for the audio driver to be un-installed and I said yes, assuming it needs to install the new driver afterward. This I assume did not happen. I have tried all the windows driver updates and tests and fixes and none of them fixes the problem. I have manually downloaded and installed the driver from HP's website and it still does not work. sp519... something. I don't find any drivers from microsofts website. According to windows everything is fine but the audio is not working after update. In the device manager is shows the driver ( IDT High Definition Audio Codec) is installed with a little exclamation in the yellow triangle indicating something is wrong. Trouble shooting can not pick up what is wrong. If you search for microphone the Manage audio devises or Sound Box shows under playback and recording that there are now devices installed. The little audio icon/speaker at the bottom right shows a cross and you can not make any changes.

I don't know what ells to please advise ASAP.

Kind Regards

Werner

I would suggest you do a system restore before you started experiencing this problem. In future ensure that no optional driver updates are installed, usually this is reason things like this happen. Open Windows Update > Optional Updates

    Uncheck all that is listed.
