When I plug a USB optical mouse in a USB port, the operating system (Windows 8) doesn't recognize the device. However, some seconds after the laptop is rebooted, the mouse works, then it stop working when the operating system starts.

This data is when I plugged the device, and it worked.

Device USB\VID_093A&PID_2510\6&f320ae7&0&2 was configured.

Driver Name: input.inf

Class GUID: {745A17A0-74D3-11D0-B6FE-00A0C90F57DA}

Driver Date: 06/21/2006

Driver Version: 6.2.9200.16579

Driver Provider: Microsoft

Driver Section: HID_Inst.NT

Driver Rank: 0xFF3101

Matching Device ID: USB\Class_03&SubClass_01

Outranked Drivers: input.inf:USB\Class_03:00FF3202

Device Updated: false

However, this following data is the event that follows when I plug the device:

Device USB\VID_093A&PID_2510\6&f320ae7&0&2 was configured.

Driver Name: null

Class GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

Driver Date:

Driver Version:

Driver Provider:

Driver Section:

Driver Rank: 0x0

Matching Device ID:

Outranked Drivers:

Device Updated: true

How can I solve it?

By the way, I have done this:

1. Run the Hardware troubleshooter and check.

The hardware troubleshooter states that the driver of the USB device is not installed.

2. Install latest drivers for mouse from the manufacturer’s website and check.

This device was working perfectly, and it doesn't need a driver because windows 8 provided it. The manufacturer's website doesn't even have drivers for its product, because they work perfectly with this operating system. The USB optical mouse is from the company Klip Xtreme

3. Perform clean boot and check.

I have done this, but the problem persist.

Any of these solutions have worked out.

Have you tried installing a driver included in system from Device Manager

Update > Browse > Let me pick > Any of the items you get

If you get nothing or those don't work you can try the usual plug&play USB Optical Mouse driver

Update > Browse > Let me pick > Uncheck the box > Microsoft >HID-compliant mouse

I have tried this method, but it doesn't work.

This answer has been the closest to my problem. As I stated above, this problem has to do with the drivers, but I thought that the drivers that didn't work were the one that controlled the mouse, but I was wrong, they were those who control the HID.

I haven't solved this problem yet.

Uninstall the mouse drivers by following steps 1 and 2.

Then, if you have an installation media of the mouse( a CD, USB drive, etc..) Try installing the mouse through that.

    1. No. What happened was that the computer couldn't start (I don't know why, I just pressed the power button), then the system tried to start or to recover, so it made an analysis to the hard drive C by itself. After that, the mouse was not recognized. Also, it made some errors like iolorgdf32 program not found skipping autocheck.
    2. No
    3. No, I have not received any error on-screen message. However, when I go to Device manager, and click to the USB optical mouse, which has a yellow triangle, and I get this error code: code 28.
    4. The computer is a Sony vaio SVE14125CLW, and the mouse is a Klip Xtreme Optical Mouse PS2/USB Model KMO-102 USB Optical Mouse.

Try the following steps and get back to me with the results:

    1. Type Device manager on the start page and hit “Settings”

    2. Find Mice and expand it. Right click on the driver select Uninstall*.***

    3. Restart the computer. Go to the manufacturer’s website and install the driver.

I have done this before posting here.

I have done the two steps; nonetheless, the third one is not possible because the manufacturer don't have the drivers posted in the website.
