Hi Lee,
I see that this is your first post in this forum, welcome to the Microsoft Community forum.
Did this issue start recently? Do you remember making any recent changes to the computer prior to this issue?
This issue could be caused due to some incorrect settings or due to some corrupt system files or due to s software conflict. I would suggest you to try
these steps and check:
Method 1: Hardware and devices troubleshooter
I would suggest you to run the built-in Hardware and Devices troubleshooter that can detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could
cause such issues. Refer to this article for more information:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-troubleshooter
Method 2:
If the troubleshooter couldn’t fix the issue, I would suggest you to check the settings for Bluetooth services:
a) Click on the start button and click on “Run”, type “services.msc”.
b) Locate “Blue tooth support service” and check if the status is displayed as running.
c) If it is not running, right click on the service and select start.
d) Right click on the service again and select properties, in the general tab, select the start up type to “Automatic”.
Method 3:
If the issue still persists, then I would suggest you to re-install the Bluetooth driver and check. You can refer to these steps:
a) Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager.
b) Locate your Bluetooth device and right click on it.
c) In the driver tab, click on Uninstall driver.
d) Now reboot the computer and Windows will try to boot the basic driver.
e) If the device doesn’t work with the basic driver, then I would suggest you to install the driver you downloaded from the manufacturer’s website and
check.
Try these steps and let us know the results; we’d be happy to help if you need any further assistance.
