LifeChat LX-3000 microphone not un-muting

I have been using my LifeChat headset for approximately a month now and all of the sudden, the red mute light will not turn off.  In otherwords, it will not un-mute.  I have tried removing and reinstalling the driver.  The volume up and down buttons work but the mute and hang up buttons do not function.  It is disappointing to thing that the headset won't even last a month but, is that what it comes down to?  Do I need a replacement?  Any suggestions?

    Hi,

Did you make any changes on the computer prior to the issue?

     Method 1:

Try connecting the headphone to other USB ports and check if the same issue occurs.

     Method 2:

You may remove and reinstall Lifechat device:

    a.       Go to Start-> Control Panel (Small or Large icons) -> System icon, and click Device Manager on the left.

    b.      Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers

    c.       See if the first or second entry is "Lifechat Lx-3000 Microphone ".

    d.      Right-click on Lifechat Lx-3000 Microphone and select Uninstall.

    e.      Unplug and plug the Lifechat Lx-3000 Microphone onto the computer.

    f.        In the Device Manager, click the Scan for hardware changes button on the toolbar and let it scan your computer.

When the system finds the new device, it will request to install the right driver.

I've had the same problem, LifeChat LX-3000 would not unmute.

    Here's how to fix:

    1. Type in "manage audio devices" in the Start-menu.
    2. Open the "Recording" tab
    3. Right-click your LX microphone, and click Properties
    4. Click the Levels tab
    5. Click the mute button on the right side a couple of times.

Now LifeChat LX-3000 will be unmuted and also the mute-button will work again.
