Although a bit strong to describe as a virus it is still a pain, requires subterfuge to get it distributed and by their own admission requires 18 separate steps to get rid of it. Then you have to repeat most of it for each browser.

A properly packaged installation should not require this work to remove, that what uninstall scripts are for.

    Hi DeannaBowser,

I am from the support team at Babylon company. Babylon Search and Toolbar are meant to be a part of an integrated set of tools that help people understand and explore their world.

But, we understand that people have different search preferences and****we would be happy to help you remove any part of Babylon you may not want.

In order to remove Babylon from Google Chrome, please follow these steps:

    Remove Chrome Toolbar (from Extensions)

    1. Open Chrome. Click on the Customize and Control Google Chrome icon.
    2. Select Settings. Select Extensions.
    3. Remove/Disable the Babylon Toolbar 1.9.

Remove Chrome Toolbar (from Add/Remove Programs)  1. Click the Start button on your computer.

    1. Select Control Panel.
    2. Select Programs and Features.
    3. Select Babylon Chrome Toolbar from the Programs list.
    4. Right click to uninstall
    5. Press YES on the popup message.

Change Home Page:  1. Open Chrome. Click on the Customize and Control Google Chrome icon.

    1. Select Settings and go to the Appearance section.
    2. Click on Change and insert the URL of your desired Home Page.
    3. Click OK to save the changes.

Remove Search Provider  1. Open Chrome. Click on the Customize and Control Google Chrome icon.

    1. Select Settings and go to the Search section.
    2. Select Manage Search Engines, select Search the Web (Babylon).
    3. Remove by clicking on the X.
    4. Click OK to save the changes.

Yeah, right.  It is not your fault.  It is still your software and it is still a virus, and it is still garbage.  Mask it anyway you want.  It is unwanted, it is junk, and it is a virus meant for you to explore people rather than for you to help them.

    Geoff
