Epson LQ-300+II dot matrix printer not getting installed

I also had the same problem so I contacted Epson directly, their response via email "At this stage there is no indication that Epson is going to release an updated driver for the dot matrix product and Windows 8. As Windows 8 does include drivers supplied with the operating system Epson would suggest checking if there is a driver for your product with Microsoft directly."

The only other manufacture of Dot Matrix printers in OKI and they do offer Windows 8 drivers.

Given this printer is used for printing Employee payslips, and email or similar web solution are not viable for all our customers, it seems our customers either need to buy an OKI printer or change to laser printer payslip stationary at x3 price per payslip.  Either way, not an expense that employers will like.

Do you receive any error message on the computer?

i have the same problem , i have a Sony vaio running Windows 8 64 bit , i try to install a driver for printer Epson LQ-300+ but the driver is not available in Windows , also not available on the manufacturer website, so please help me how can i install the driver, the printer was working fine when i was windows 7
