    Hi,

You need to get the latest mouse drivers and have them ready to re-install (maybe more than once).

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - when ready Right Click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

Tips for solving problems with USB devices - and a Mr Fixit

Control Panel - Device Manager - click in the blank area - then VIEW - Show Hidden Devices now look everywhere EXCEPT USB Controllers for your device (may not find ANY) and if you find it RIGHT CLICK and UNINSTALL them all. The Device is your mouse or similar. Now go to USB Controllers and UNINSTALL EVERYTHING in the category but the category itself. APPLY/OK - REBOOT

Try installing your mouse as new.

MS Hardware Software - latest version is 8.x which was just releasedhttp://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK

This will refresh the USB stack and hopefully allow the device to install. (You may need a powered hub).

Here is the similar procedure in XP, Vista's is the same except we need to clear the specific device if present.

Here is a utility to help but do the above 1st.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used. Run it Options and check the 1st three choices to see if any are there. Try removing all instances and rebooting then plug in the mouse.

Again try installing your mouse as new.

    Good evening:

I'm also suddenly having problems with the Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, model 1359 which I purchased from Amazon.com on July 5, 2010. I was looking over one of your warranty forms and it appears there's only a 2 year warranty on the Mouse 3000, but you mentioned 3. I need to find out as mine is fast approaching the end of the warranty if it is indeed for three years.

The mouse was working fine this morning and then stopped. I replaced the battery, and while the mouse device itself does show a green light on top, the USB connector appears dead, even when I attempt to reset it by pushing the bottom button.

I was going to try the nirsoft.net link you gave above (I clicked directly on the link in your article), as a way to double-check all my USB connections and to -- if necessary -- remove the Microsoft Mouse and start again. However, my Symantec kicked in just as I hit download and advised that this was a malicious site which may be attempting to download materials onto my computer that would be detrimental. As I do trust Symantec, I discontinued the download.

Would you have any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
