Running an Asus Vivobook Windows 8 and downloading Windows 7 / 8 compatible Adobe Standards.  Receive Error 1935 during installation of assembly component {98CB 24AD-52FB-DB5F-A01F-C8B 3B9 A1E18E} HResult 0x80070422.  Implemented all fixes that I can find.

I really need this to work -- any additional thoughts?

    Hi,

Let’s follow these methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Disable and re-enable the .net framework.

    a. Press Windows Key + X, click Control Panel, click Programs and features, and then click Turn Windows features on or off.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    b. Browse to the .net framework and remove the check mark in front of .net framework 4.0. Click Ok.

    c. Restart the Computer and place the check mark. Once it is done, try to install Adobe.

Method 2: Place the computer into clean boot state and check.

How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

Note: To reset the computer to normal mode after troubleshooting, please follow “**How to reset the computer to start as usual”**from the above article.

Method 3: Disable antispyware and antivirus software or remove adware or spyware from your computer and then install Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

    a. Disable the following applications or types of applications, following any instructions provided by such software:

    ·         Disable Lavasoft Ad-Watch, Ad-Aware, or similar detection software before installation.

    ·         Disable WebRoot Spy Sweeper.

    b. Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Do let us know about the results. We will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks Tim -- I tried that a few times as well.  Didn't work.  I am going to to do a system restore back to original settings and try reinstalling.  I am baffled.

Also, try typing this into command prompt:

    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

    Then try again.

It's under Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator.

Did you try installing/reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package?
