Go to "Intel Graphics and Media" setting in control panel.

Click Basic Mode

Go to power options

Click power source option on the top, Change it to "on battery

There will be "Power conversion Features" option

Disable the "Display Power Saving Technology"

The adaptive brightness problem is solved.

I'm using WIN 8.1 for Sony Vaio laptop

I had the same happen, and solved it with this Instruction

Thank you very much

I think it may be a feature of your graphics driver. I disabled it in AMD Catalyst Control Center. There is a checkbox about Vari-Bright in Power settings. Maybe you can find something similar there.

Thank you for the answer. Sadly it's not working. Well it works actually but only for a few second, all of my changes turn into the old one. I don't know why and I have tried more than 3 times. Recently I tried to search "How to disable auto brightness on Windows 8 laptops?" on the IE10 search bar and then my browser somehow closed by itself. I literally do that 4 times in a row and it happens. So I closed my connection for few hours and tried again. Until now I haven't got the real answer.

    Hi,

Let me ask you a question.

Do you have a laptop or a desktop?

Follow the steps given here. I have given the steps thinking that you have a desktop not a laptop.

    a) Press Windows Key + X, click on Control Panel.

    b) Click on Power Options, Click on Change Plan settings under “Preferred Plans

    c) Click on “Change Advanced Power Settings”.

    d) Select the Balanced Active option from the dropdown menu.

    e) Expand Display, Click on Enable Adaptive Brightness.

    f) Put the settings as OFF.

    g) Press Apply and OK.

    h) Restart your computer.

If you are using a Laptop in the step f) select OFF for On Battery and Plugged in options.
