I got hit with one of the Win32 Trojans appearing as a virus scann even tho the program was ended via task manager I cannot open and of the programs in the system tool when trying to restore. Is there anyway to fix this without having to "F" disk the computer? I tried running the system scann in the Admin command Prompt and it said it could not start the repair service. I have the Vista operating system. System Restore wont even open in safe mode I get the same errors.

Download Trojan Killer by Gridinsoft. It will fix the problem in 30 seconds free of charge (You can test it while it continues to scan)

    http://trojan-killer.net/

(it will scan for other virus but you'll have to pay to remove those at the end of the scan)

    Hi ShadowedAmora,

    Step 1

I would suggest you to navigate to the following location ‘C:\Windows\System32’ and check if ‘rstrui.exe’ file exists. If you are able to locate the file yo umay try to doubleclick on the rstrui.exe file and check if it can help you perform a system restore.

    Step 2

You may try to run ‘rstrui.exe’ from the run box and chack it it works. To run the file, follow the steps below.

    a.    On the keyboard press Windows key and the R key together.

    b.   You should get the run box.

    c.    In the run box, type rstrui.exe and press enter.

Check if System restore window opens and postback the result.

Hope this helps. Post back with the result.

    Thanks and Regards,

I have had basically the same experience. I tried your suggestion of "rsturi.exe"; but the message returns with "windows can't find "rsturi.exe". Any other suggestions? Thank you for trying to help. This is terrible ordeal. I retried; and now I am at the sytems protection message is "could not schedule the requested task for the following reason, "the request is not supported. (0x80070032). Any ideas. Thanks again That message has cleared and now when I reboot it tells me "cannot findwindows\system\32\drivers\tcpip.sys" I have gone into Run mode and repeated procedure looking for the tcpip.sys. The Windows Box message says that to open this file Windows needs to know what program I want to use to open it. I can't get on line with this PC and don't know if anything I have will open the file. Can you suggest anything else. Thanks again
