Asus Laptop system recovery

I was just using my Asus laptop then when I clikced on a New Tab and entered Facebook, it doesn't load. So I restarted it. Then what happen is there is a blue screen saying that my Windows need to repair. After loading 100% it goes black then says "Preparing Automatic Repair" then "Diagnosing your PC" then a blue screen shown saying Windows couldn't load correctly. Saying that the system needs to restore and it shows two boxes that has Restore and Cancel so I click on Restore. After that it was just black with the logo of Asus. What happened to my laptop? I remember I was just downloading a movie. Please answer thanks.

    Hi Raquel,  

    Please provide some more information to understand the issue better.

    1.      Do you have a Windows 8 disc?

    2.      Did you try to restore using a disc?

    3.      What is the model of the ASUS computer?

    4.      Did you make any recent hardware or software changes to the computer?

    This may be an issue if the boot files or system files are broken or corrupted. You may follow the steps and check if these methods help you in resolving the issue.

    Method 1: Start the computer in safe mode using a Windows 8 disc.

    a.       Boot into the Windows 8 disc.

    1. Once selecting your language, time and keyboard settings, click Next to load the next window, then click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom left corner of the window.
    2. You should then be presented with a Choose an Option screen, with Troubleshoot as an option to select.
    3. In the Troubleshoot screen, select advanced options.
    4. Click on Start up setting and restart the computer.

    Note: If you're not signed in to Windows, click the power icon from the sign-in screen, hold Shift, and then click Restart to start the computer in safe mode from login screen**.**Please restart the computer to start in normal mode.

    Step 2: If the issue doesn’t occur in safe mode please start the computer in clean boot from safe mode as it will disable all the third party software and you will be able to recognize which software is causing the issue.

    Note: Refer the section “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting in clean boot” of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

    Method 2: If you are unable to boot to safe mode perform Automatic repair using a recovery disc.

    a.       Boot into the Windows 8 disc.

    1. Once selecting your language, time and keyboard settings, click Next to load the next window, then click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom left corner of the window.
    2. You should then be presented with a Choose an Option screen, with Troubleshoot as an option to select.
    3. In the Troubleshoot screen, select advanced options.
    4. Select Automatic Repair from the advanced options screen and then select the target operating system to repair, which would be Windows 8 in this case.

    Method 3: If automatic repair doesn’t work please perform system restore, please restore the computer to the date when the computer was working fine using a disc.

    a.       Boot into the Windows 8 disc.

    1. Once selecting your language, time and keyboard settings, click Next to load the next window, then click on the Repair your computer link on the bottom left corner of the window.
    2. You should then be presented with a Choose an Option screen, with Troubleshoot as an option to select.
    3. In the Troubleshoot screen, select advanced options.
    4. Select Restore and follow the onscreen prompt.
