Error: The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer JEFFREYTABLET that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{93525741-517A-4594-982F-8A21. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.

My home network is peer-to-peer. I found this event log entry as a result of my Windows 7 desktop having a shutdown issue. There are over 200 of these entries, all listed as errors, and I'm wondering if the Lenovo Lynx K3011 Windows 8 tablet can be told to mellow out. Whenever it's in at "home" is should subjugate itself to the desktop. I have found a slew of posts on this. But they all seem to lack one thing - the answer. It seems in Windows XP there is a registry change that can fix this. Is there a setting on Windows 7 that can make it "king" or a setting in the Windows 8 tablet to make it subservient?

    Hi,

Here are a few things you may try.

Note: Lets take a registry backup before making and changes in the registry.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/back-up-the-registry

    • Open registry editor by typing regedit.exe in the start search box.
    • Go to the following location
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\IsDomainMaster

Ensure that it is set to false.

Also, go through http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc737661%28WS.10%29.aspx to know more about "How Computer Browser Service Works"

Hope this information helps. If you have any concerns, please let us know.
